Great News for Spratton’s Buses

Cllr Hunt attended the West Northants Council Budget approval meeting at the Guildhall this week and along with the Welford, Brixworth and Naseby Chairs, made a statement in support of retaining the local bus service.  Much against expectations, the tenacity of the parishes on our service and the skill and determination of  Cllr Jonathan Harris has put into saving it, the West Northants Council decided to reverse the previous decision to cut £215,000 from the bus budget.

The only caveat is that it will be subject to a review.

The service has to be given at least three months’ notice if it is to be terminated and in view of this most recent decision it is hoped Spratton might be able to count on at least another year from 31st March 2023.

Thanks to Cllr John Hunt (Spratton Chair) and Cllr Jonathan Harris (Brixworth) for all their continued hard work on this matter. This is a vital service for our local residents that has only continued thanks to the efforts made by our local Parish Councils.
